About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our growing team based at Sydney Airport. Working as an integral member of the Aviation Division this position is responsible for managing generalist HR activities, projects and practices that affect both the organisation and its employees. The position is also extensively involved in partnering with operational managers to provide advice and interpretation FW Act, contracts of employment, ensuring we source and develop the best team members, workplace agreements, workplace investigations, dispute resolution and learning. As we embark on an exciting journey of change this is a great opportunity to own and develop your area working with a diverse and nationally located team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach line managers on contemporary People practices to ensure performance is maximized
  • Be the first point of contact for all general day-to-day HR enquiries
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industrial instruments, including Enterprise Agreements, relevant Awards and provide interpretations taking all relevant information into account.
  • Case Management of workplace investigations into misconduct matters, underperformance, fitness for work and grievances/complaints.
  • Be a change agent with the ability to coach and mentor. 
  • Engaging in a diverse spectrum of generalist HR activities across the employee lifecycle.

What we are looking for:

  • 1-2 years Previous Generalist HR experience
  • Degree Qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Business Administration.
  • Working knowledge of current workplace legislation and policy and an understanding of Awards and Enterprise Agreements. 
  • Good understanding of contemporary Human Resource Management practices. 
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with an operational team partnering on the HR matters
  • Strong understanding of Employee Relations
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a multi-site environment
