Position Purpose

The Deputy Business Program Manager will be a key player in the success of the SAP Cloud, SuccessFactors EC, EC Payroll, and Workforce Software implementation. By providing both strategic support and operational oversight, this role will ensure that all aspects of the project are managed efficiently and that the program goals are achieved. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Program Leadership: Assist the Program Director in overseeing the end-to-end implementation of SAP Cloud, SuccessFactors EC, EC Payroll, and Workforce Software. Step in to lead when necessary, ensuring continuity and smooth operations across the program. 
  • Hands-on Project Management: Actively manage key workstreams and tasks within the program, including developing detailed project plans, scheduling, and ensuring all teams are meeting deadlines. Monitor progress across multiple teams and ensure that interdependencies are identified and addressed. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as an intermediary between the Business Program Manager and project stakeholders, ensuring that clear and timely communication is maintained. Keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and challenges, and facilitate discussions as necessary. 
  • Team Coordination: Oversee day-to-day activities of the project teams, ensuring that project managers, consultants, and technical teams are aligned with the program objectives. Assist in coordinating resources and resolving conflicts or issues that may arise during execution. 
  • Risk & Issue Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating risks, and help in managing and resolving issues as they occur. Work with the Business Program Manager to develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues when necessary. 
  • Change Management: Collaborate with the change management team to ensure seamless user adoption of the new systems. Support training, communication, and transition plans to prepare end users for the SAP Cloud, SuccessFactors EC, EC Payroll, and Workforce Software implementation. 
  • Budget & Resource Tracking: Help in monitoring the program’s budget and resource allocation. Track expenditures, ensure resources are being utilized effectively, and report any deviations to the Business Program Manager. 
  • Vendor & Third-Party Management: Assist in coordinating with external vendors and service providers, ensuring that their deliverables are met within agreed-upon timeframes and contractual terms. 
  • Reporting & Governance: Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management, providing updates on progress, risks, and key milestones. Ensure that governance frameworks are followed across the program. 

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus. 
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management, with a strong focus on ERP and HR system implementations, particularly SAP Cloud, SuccessFactors EC, EC Payroll, and Workforce Software. 
  • Experience working alongside or directly supporting a senior program manager in large-scale ERP or HCM implementations. 
  • Solid understanding of SAP Cloud and HR/payroll solutions, with the ability to translate technical processes into business outcomes. 
  • Strong leadership skills with hands-on project management expertise, including experience in planning, execution, and issue resolution. 
  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, high-stakes project environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or SAP SuccessFactors certification is an advantage. 
  • Experience working in a finance, HR or workforce operations an advantage.
