Key Responsibilities
- Address and resolve unacceptable behavioural/performance occurrenceswithin the team. Report non-compliant workplace behaviour and escalatesunresolved issues to Security Services Manager
- Address staffing or equipment deficits, keep Team Leader informed of statusand report incidents of absence and lateness to the Duty Security Managerand/or Rostering
- Addresses any problems occurring during the shift if unresolved by TeamLeader
- Attend regular Team Briefing -inform Security Service Manager of all matterseffecting airport operation. In the absence of the Security Service Managerchair the meetings
- Be a role model, and coach staff in providing professional Security withService and Integrity
- Coach staff or make recommendations for improvements / tools where trendsin performance are recognised
- Comply and follow the requirements of the relevant Supervisors Checklist
- Conduct and facilitate succession planning
- Conduct regular inspections / reviews of designated areas to ensurecompliance to company standards and contractual requirements
- Delegate authority to a Team Leader to assume responsibility in the event ofSupervisor being unavailable. Endorse / modify decisions made upon return
- Document and report all incidents and performance observations inaccordance with the Event Reporting procedure. Ensure that all staff complieswith Event Reporting procedure
- Ensure all ASO’s have been briefed for various ad-hoc tasks
- Ensure all equipment is tested and passed before allowing it to be used
- Ensure appropriate and correct use of company-provided equipment andreport any defects in a timely manner
- Ensure familiarity and compliance with all policies and procedures in relationto the role and corporate requirements
- Ensure team members are working safely according to OH&S requirements
- Ensure that all qualifications, licences and accreditations required to carry outyour duties are kept up to date
- Ensure that company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, METS andother Security Regulations are being adhered to
- Ensure that our front line staff are delivering ‘Security with Service’
- Execute planned roster and other Day of Operations plans
Qualification
- Certificates II & III in Security Operations
- Current 1A Security Licence, NSW
- Valid and current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Fully Certified and accredited to perform duties as per the requirements of an Aviation Security Operative
- Hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

- Professional in appearance and conduct

Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Certis Standard Operating Procedures.
- An awareness of Methods, Techniques, Equipment Standards, Aviation Security Regulations and other relevant legislative requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the procedures to control access to and exit from airports
- Competent in the operational requirements of an Aviation Security Operative
- Awareness of EEO and Anti-Discrimination, and Harassment legislation
- Certis Workplace Health & Safety Policy and procedures Leadership principles
Experience
- Exemplary performance as a Team Leader for a minimum of 12 months.
- Leading small teams or coaching within a workplace
